US Open

Jake and I love tennis! The US Open started on Monday and we love to watch it. It sounds crazy, but it is really intense! I do like Roger Federer - he is so dominant, but I really love to watch James Blake and Andy Roddick. Last night was a great match with James Blake and a guy from France. It was honestly a GREAT match. I found myself talking to the
TV as if i was watching a Jazz game or something! You should really check it out - it is on the USA network usually all day from 9-3 then again at night from 5-9. It's worth watching.

One Cute Guy!

I wanted to get Walker's pictures done in his blessing outfit and this really cute cowboy outfit that I had - so we went to JC Penny to get them done! He only lasted about 15 minutes, but we were lucky to get a few great shots! He would smile then when the lady would put up the camera he was like "what is that?" So we really only one picture smile out of him! But I sure think he is a cute guy. Here are a few of the pictures.

FINALLY!

Just a quick post - it's official, we got the internet today!

Linebaugh Family Reunion

This past weekend was the Linebaugh family reunion. This is Jakes moms side of the family. Since I have known Jake we have not had a reunion on this side of the family - I was excited to see everyone! Even Jakes cousin Mel, who lives in China, came!! It was great to see her and her husband and their 7 month old baby girl Kate. She is a doll!! We headed up to Schofield UT where Jakes cousin Kalli and her family have a beautiful cabin. It was a great place for a reunion. There was so much to do - boating, crafts (for adults and the kids), scavenger hunts on the 4 wheelers, smores in the fire pit, and just sitting around enjoying everyone's company. It is so much fun to get reacquainted with family members you haven't seen for a long time - and even those who you see all the time! It was so great to get together with the entire family, but did we missed Josh and Becca and their family. Thanks so much to the Huntsman family for letting everyone stay at their cabin and enjoy their toys! Here are a few pictures from the weekend! Kade and Kalli's Cabin Mark, Justin, Dan, and Jackson Jake and Walker in the tractor Cheri, Jill, Mel, Kate and Bowen

This is Jake's cousins little boy, Cassidy.

He is 2 and a pure cowboy - belt buckle and all. He is so cute!!

I looked out the window and what did I see ...

TOMATOES - only they were in my neighbors hand, not on my plant. So nice of her to "notice" that I have struggled in the vegetable growing area this season - so she thought she would share her tomatoes with me.She brought me over all these tomatoes! She was telling me that her tomatoes have grown like crazy this year (wierd??) and she keeps making tomato basil salad for dinner. Wow - what would that be like to eat fresh tomatoes every night? She is nice to share. She also has these aweseome pumpkins that are called "Cinderella" pumpkins - they grow a really dark orange and are really flat. If she has extra, I hope I get one!! THANKS BARB! Way to look out for your neighbors.

p.s. I have a small cucumber growing - maybe some progress is better than none!

I can just sit him in his bouncer and turn it on and he is good for a solid half an hour! It gives me time to get a few things done around the house!! 100% recommend them!!He even has a little smile on his face!!

Family

The other day my little sister Morgan and her two kids, Boston and Ashton, came over to visit before we went to my grandmas house for dinner. Her kids are so dang cute! Boston is 2 and Ashton is 7 months. The minute I see them they put a smile on my face and they are such happy kids. They go to anyone! I was watering the back yard and Boston wanted to help. I tried to get a picture of him getting a drink from the hose, it was hilarious, he didn't even get close to the water and he was acting like he got a drink. He was making me laugh so hard! Walker is so lucky to have cousins on both sides that are so close in age. It is going to be fun when they are older and can play together alot!

ARE YOU KIDDIN' ME???

Here is my garden!
So this has been a sad "harvesting" season for me. I have planted a vegetable garden in our back yard for the last 3 years. Always in the same place, always the same time of year, we always mix in new dirt, and always use Miracle Grow. The last two years we have had so many tomatoes that eventually we have had to throw them away - same with the zucchini. Well, this year is a little different. We planted 5 tomato plants, 2 zucchini, one pumpkin and one strawberry. Please notice the picture below - this is all I have gotten this year - and it's already August!!! I don't even have green tomatos on the vine yet. ARE YOU KIDDIN' ME?

So i had to put a quarter by this tomato so you can see how small it really is!

Here is my pumpkin plant - please notice that the leaves are as big as my fist. When they should look like this... (i took a picture of my neighbors plant) See how big her leaves are - and she already has pumpkins!!

I have even double checked that the sprinklers are hitting it and I hand water to make sure they are getting water!! Anyone have any idea why my garden has issues this year? Maybe it's the heat? I am sure it is nothing I did!! ha ha!

I'm 2 months old!!

Walker turned 2 months old on August 8. We took him for his shots on Monday and he was a sad guy. But you gotta get your shots! Later that night I was going to take a picture of him with his bandaids on his legs and he kept smiling for the camera. Fine by me:) I guess I would like to thank the Tylenol for that. Isn't this picture so cute?! Well the time has gone by fast and he is getting so big! It is fun to be a mom and take care of this cute little guy - Especially when he smiles back:)

Rough Go Around For Us!

Oh Boy! Rough few days around the Mauss home! Jake came down with the flu on Tuesday morning. That was the first time he has thrown up since his mission in 1999. It is also the first day he has called in sick in 3 years. He was a man down! When I went to go and ge Walker up his blanket and his back were really wet. "Poor guy, are you all sweaty?" or so I thought! When I realized that it was throw up!! He had the flu too! At first I was thinking that it was just from his two month shots that he had on Monday - but then when he kept throwing up his milk all morning - I knew that he was sick too! Poor guys! Jake woke up a little bit better on Wednsday, just a little bit achey and congested, and Walker finally got over it today! He still has a few issues in his diaper, but he is finally keeping the milk down. I think he was getting sick of the Pedialite and water I was giving him. Yeah that they are feeling better. Poor Walker just cried and I didn't know what to do for him. I hope no one else gets the flu - I really hope I don't get it!

Generations

"The love of a family is one of life's greatest blessings."

Mike, Teylor, Jack and Walker Dan, Jake, Laurie and Walker

Aren't generation pictures just the best!?! I love them. Jake and I are so grateful that we had the opportunity to get these done right after Walker was born. My grandpa Jack (above) is 92 and still going strong. Unfortunatley Jakes grandpa Laurie (above) passed away on July 29. We are so grateful for the knowledge that we have of eternal families and to know that we can be together forever.

Hey Batter, Batter, Batter....

We took Walker to his first baseball game! We've got to get him started on sports as soon as we can!:) Jake's work hosted a night at the Bee's game so we decided to go. Walker loves being outside so we knew he would love it. Even though some of the pictures show him crying, he really did a good job! We were really proud of him!

Minneapolis Bridge

So my dad's corporate office of his work is in Minneapolis and he goes there 3 or 4 times a year. He just happened to have to go there this week - one week after the bridge collapse. He emailed these photos. The hotel he stays at looks right over the bridge. On his lunch break he went down to the site and took these pictures. SO SAD! What an amazing and heartbreaking site to see!

I love to sleep on my TUMMY!

Walker LOVES to sleep on his tummy! If it were up to him, he would choose to sleep this way all the time. He actually sleeps so much better on his tummy, but at such a young age it makes me nervous. I don't let him sleep during the night on his tummy, but sometimes for naps I do - then I just check on him constantly!! He sure is a cute guy!

Meet Walker Bradley Mauss

What a great summer 2007 has been. We were so blessed to have Walker born on June 8, 2007. He brings so much joy to our home and he is so dang cute! He is now smiling and loves to eat! The minute he cries all we have to do is take him outside and he is one happy camper. He just barely started sleeping 6-7 hours a night and mommy loves it! Jake is the best dad ever. He is so hilarious - when ever Walker is stretching and raising his hands Jake's says "yes you in the front row, do you have a question?" I laugh every time! I am so lucky to be a mom to such a great little guy!

Drumroll Please...

It's official - our blog is up and runnnig! After blog surfing for who knows how long - we have finally started up our family blog! We hope you enjoy it!
